Current status (checked 12 October 2026)

Urlătoarea Waterfall is an outdoor sight in Bucegi Natural Park and has no opening hours: you reach it on foot, on a mountain path. The sources consulted announce no closure of the trail. The path has roots and stretches that become slippery after rain, and the wet rock near the waterfall is dangerous, so mountain footwear is needed.

What you see

The water falls from a rock face in the forest above Bușteni; tourist sources give a height of about 15 metres. The name comes from the noise of the water, which you hear before you see the waterfall. It is most impressive after rain or when the snow melts.

The trail

The path starts from the cable-car area in Bușteni and is marked with a red dot, according to hiking guides. The Visit Romania listing gives about 30 minutes of walking to the waterfall and a visit of around 90 minutes in total. For families used to trails, the route can be suitable in good weather; the choice depends on the children's age, the weather and the equipment.

Opening hours and prices (checked 12 October 2026)
