What it is
FFIR is the largest cultural event in Râșnov: documentary and fiction films, debates with historians and journalists, concerts, theatre, exhibitions and a summer school. The 18th edition, under the theme “Project Romania”, takes place between 7 and 23 August 2026, in four localities — Râșnov, Brașov, Feldioara and Codlea.
Where the events take place in Râșnov
The Râșnov programme starts on 13 August and runs until 23 August. The venues used are: the “Amza Pellea” Cinema (2 Mihai Viteazu St.) — where most screenings and debates take place; Regina Maria / Unirii Square — open-air screenings, performances and the summer fair; La Lift, at the entrance to the inclined-plane lift — the documentary competition; the Evangelical Church (1 Republicii St.) — concerts; Râșnov Citadel — the major concerts and special events; plus private gardens around the town, in the “Beyond the Fences” programme.
The concerts at the Citadel
The festival’s biggest events take place in Râșnov Citadel, in the evening, from 8:00 p.m. Access to them is by ticket.
Tickets
Some events have free entry, while others require a ticket, available on eventbook.ro and at the venue. The full, up-to-date programme is on ffir.ro.
Good to know
During the festival, the town is considerably busier than usual, and parking in the centre and around the Citadel becomes difficult on concert evenings. We recommend booking accommodation in advance and walking to the events in the centre.
