Current status (checked 12 October 2026)

The zoo is open. The official visiting page, dated 14 January 2025, announced that the exotic pavilion is being fitted out and cannot be visited; we did not find a newer confirmation, so ask at the entrance.

A rebuilt zoo

The zoo is in the Noua district, next to the forest and Lake Noua. It closed in 2011 for a modernisation of more than 31 million lei, about 22 million of it from the Ministry of the Environment, and expanded from 4 to 10 hectares.

What you see

Besides the animals, the grounds have a planetarium, the Casa cu Ocol and a viewpoint over the lions and tigers, plus a virtual bus safari. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Pushchairs are allowed, and the main gate is used for the exit.
