Mănăstirea Brâncoveanu — Sâmbăta de Sus

History

Founded by the ruler Constantin Brâncoveanu, built at the end of the 17th century at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains. An important Orthodox spiritual and cultural centre, restored in the Brâncovenesc style.

The monastery church, the museum of icons painted on glass and the contemplative atmosphere in a remarkable natural setting.
