Current status (checked 12 October 2026)

This is a protected natural area, not a site developed for tourists. We found no manager publishing opening hours, visitor trails, information points or access rules. If you go, stay on the existing tracks, don't pick plants and don't enter the marshy areas.

An oak forest with rare marshes

The reserve lies in the Țara Bârsei region, near Prejmer and Hărman, at about 500 metres altitude. It is declared a protected area of national interest, of floristic and forestry type, by Law 5/2000, and is part of the Natura 2000 site ROSCI0170. In some tourist sources it appears as Lunca Prejmerului or Prejmer Forest.

What you see today

Most of the reserve is oak forest, while the eutrophic marshes cover only a few hectares. The environmental study of Prejmer commune shows that the marsh area has shrunk in recent years. The total area differs from one source to another: the commune's study gives 241.72 hectares, other sources give around 258 hectares. The place suits a quiet walk in nature, not an organised visit.

Opening hours and prices (checked 12 October 2026)

Opening hours and prices are not published for 2026 — check the official source before your visit. The reserve has no official website. As an outdoor visit, it is not a good option for a rainy day.

Getting there

From MAX International in Râșnov, drive towards Brașov, then on the DN11 towards Hărman and Prejmer. The reserve extends over the area between the two communes. You can see the exact distance and time with the navigation buttons on this page.
