The figures come from P2, which cites Munții Noștri and OpenStreetMap; we could not open the route's Munții Noștri page directly, so check them on a map before you set off.

Where it goes

The route climbs from Bran to Poiana Gaura, a mountain clearing below the western slope of the Bucegi. The intermediate landmarks are not published in our sources: follow the waymarks and keep the Munții Noștri or Waymarked Trails map at hand. From Poiana Gaura a short link trail leads to Poiana Guțanu (blue triangle), and the Bran – Poiana Gaura – Omu Hut route (red cross) also passes through Poiana Gaura; it has a separate page in the guide, because it follows a different waymark and climbs further, up to Omu Hut.

Safety

In winter the route is passable, but heavy snow can cause problems. Water sources and shelters are not published in our sources, so set off with water and food. Getting to the start

From MAX International in Râșnov, take the DN73 towards Bran. The route starts in Bran. Parking at the start is not published in our sources. Poiana Gaura is up in the mountains, with no road access described in our sources: you come back the same way or continue on another marked trail.
