Where it goes

The route links Brașov with Poiana Brașov above the tarmac road. It starts at Livada Poștei, climbs Crișan and Cloșca streets, passes the Junii Brașoveni chapel and reaches the information panel of the Stejerișul Mare reserve. From Stejerișul Mare peak you have a view over Brașov, Tâmpa and the Bârsa Land. You continue towards Piatra Corbului through a forest that is especially lovely in spring, cross the road to the left, come out into a clearing near the road and, on a forestry track past a horse farm, reach the northern end of Poiana Mică and the Căprioara Hotel; 100 m past the hotel you meet the red stripe (the Old Road) towards Pietrele lui Solomon.

Safety

It is a relatively easy route, but a long one (9.5 km). You cross the Brașov–Poiana Brașov road several times: watch out for cars. The route is also recommended for mountain biking, so you may meet cyclists. Winter conditions, water sources, shelters and bear risk are not published in our sources.
