Where it goes

According to Munții Noștri, the route links Cabana Gura Râului (750 m), near Zărnești, with Bran Castle, over the Măgura ridge. At first it follows the road towards Fântâna lui Botorog, then climbs steeply through the forest, past Gălbinarea, to Șaua Măgura, where it meets routes 26 and 37, and passes below Măgura Mare before descending towards Bran. Munții Noștri describes it as an endurance hike with no technical difficulty, suited to people used to elevation changes of more than 800 m. The route is little used, the path is easy to lose and there is not yet a signpost towards Bran.

Safety

Winter conditions, water sources, shelters and bear risk are not published in our sources. Because the path is easy to lose, carry a map or the track loaded on your phone. The route crosses Piatra Craiului National Park. The visitor ticket costs 10 lei per person and is valid for 7 days; children under 14 go free (pcrai.ro/bilete, 2026 prices, read on 7 October 2026). Getting to the start

From MAX International in Râșnov, drive to Zărnești and on towards Cabana Gura Râului. Parking at the start is not published in our sources.
