Duration: 3 h 30 min – 3 h 45 min according to Munții Noștri; another description on the same site gives 3.5–4 h. Difficulty: medium on the Munții Noștri sheet, although the description calls it easy, with no navigation problems. To be safe, treat it as medium.

Where it goes

According to Munții Noștri, the route starts at Cristian railway station, passes the oak reserve and climbs into the forest on a forestry road, the Lexen Road. It reaches the saddle between Râșnov and Poiana Brașov, and from there follows the paved DJ1E road up to the resort. The last part is therefore on a road used by cars. The route is also popular with cyclists.

Getting to the start

Cristian lies on the DN73, between Râșnov and Brașov, so the start is very close to MAX International. The route begins at Cristian railway station. Parking at the start is not published in our sources. The route ends in Poiana Brașov, so plan your return in advance.
