Waymark: red cross (code 05MN52). Distance: 2.5 km. Elevation: 82 m up, 232 m down. Duration: about 1 h. Difficulty: easy/medium.
Where it goes
The route starts from the old Poiana road (Drumul Vechi al Poienii) and follows Poiana lui Stechil street to a road junction, where it turns left onto a forest road and meets the Yellow Road (Drumul Galben, Brașov–Predeal). On a smaller road you climb onto the broad ridge between the Oabănul de Jos and Oabănul de Sus valleys, then descend past the place called Stâna Navri (the sheepfold is gone, only the name remains). Through fir and beech forest you reach the Poiana Nisipului clearing and the forest road in Valea cu Apă. If you want to continue, the red cross links with the yellow stripe towards Pietrele lui Solomon.
Safety
It is a short route, mostly downhill, without big height differences. Winter conditions, water sources, shelters and bear risk are not published in our sources. The route ends on a forest road, not in a village: plan your way back in advance. In an emergency call 112 or 0SALVAMONT (0725 826 668).
