Where it goes
According to Munții Noștri, from the signpost in Poiana Gaura, where the red cross leaves for Cabana Omu through the Gaura Valley, the route climbs gently to the southern end of the clearing, near the Gaura sheepfold. It then climbs steeply through the forest, crosses the gullies below the Guțanu escarpment (Valea Cătunului and Valea Șimon) and comes out on a forest road in Poiana Guțanu, next to the new Guțanu sheepfold. There it meets the red triangle to Hotel Peștera, via Șaua Bătrâna, and the red stripe to Cabana Padina, via Șaua Strunga. The source describes it as not very technical and trouble-free.
