3–4 h

In short (checked 13 October 2026)
Waymark: blue cross (code 05MN50). Distance: 6.6 km. Elevation: 805 m up. Duration: 3–4 h. Difficulty: medium.
Where it goes
You start from Timișu de Jos railway station, walk south beside the railway to the church and turn right into Valea Lamba. After the barrier you pass a former hut at the water intake. When the road ends, you follow the path through thick vegetation to the confluence with Lamba Mare, then climb steadily along the valley bed and in tight switchbacks onto the Crucuru ridge, where you meet the Yellow Road and the Blue Road from Brașov. Along the ridge, on the left side of the Sulinar ski slope, you reach the artificial lake at Poiana Ruia and the Ruia chairlift pylon; for the Postăvaru hut you continue on the yellow stripe or the blue stripe.
Safety
Munții Noștri rates it medium but describes it as demanding: over 800 m to climb, with gradients of more than 30%. In winter the route is closed between Timișu de Jos and the Crucuru ridge because of avalanche risk. The former hut at the water intake in Valea Lamba is mentioned as a shelter in case of need. Water sources and bear risk are not published in our sources. In an emergency call 112 or 0SALVAMONT (0725 826 668). Salvamont Brașov (municipal service, Poiana Doamnei 20B): 0368 103 194.
