Waymark: blue cross. Distance: 5.5 km (official approval list); OSM: 4.4 km. Elevation: not in the official list — check the map before you go. Duration: 2 h – 2 h 30 min. Difficulty: easy. It is one of the six trails on Măgura Codlei officially approved in 2021: waymark, length, duration and difficulty come from the official approval list (certificates issued by the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism on 19 May 2021, announced by the Codlea Tourism Promotion Service), and the OpenStreetMap length is given for comparison.

Where it goes

The trail starts in the Quarry area (Zona Carieră), passes through the Rușeț glade (Poiana lui Rușeț) and climbs to the Măgura Codlei summit, as the official list names it. In the Quarry area it meets the yellow-dot trail (Codlea, Zona Maial – Codlea lido – Zona Carieră), which the official list calls a link trail to the summit. In OpenStreetMap the start is named “Complex Turistic Codlea”.

Getting to the start

From MAX International in Râșnov, drive towards Cristian and then along the DN1, heading for Sibiu, to Codlea. You start from the Codlea lido (Ștrandul Codlea). From the lido follow the yellow-dot trail to the junction with the blue cross, in the Quarry area. Parking at the start is not published in our sources.
